The Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute is addressing the direct-care staffing crisis in long-term care through:

• Designing and implementing innovations in provider practice;
• Building multistakeholder coalitions to support public policies responsive to the needs of workers, consumers, and long-term care providers
• Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information and resources related to direct-care workforce issues.

We work with providers, labor organizations, policymakers, educators, and consumers to foster an understanding of workforce issues and to develop solutions that will sustain a competent, caring, and stable direct-care workforce that can deliver quality services to long-term care consumers.
