Long-Term Care Workforce Focus of Capitol Hill Briefing

The National Council on Aging and the Disability and Aging Collaborative, in partnership with the U.S. Senate offices of Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), hosted a series of four briefings on long-term services and supports (LTSS) in October for congressional office staff.

At the LTSS Workforce and Family Caregiving Challenge briefing, moderated by Cathy Hurwit, Rep. Jan Schakowsky‘s chief of staff, PHI Government Affairs Manager Gail MacInnes presented information about direct-care workforce challenges and opportunities.

Joining MacInnes on the panel were Patricia Evans, a home care worker, Gail Hunt of the National Alliance for Caregiving, and Ai-jen Poo of Caring Across Generations.
