SCAN Foundation President Chosen to Head LTC Commission

June 20, 2013

Bruce Chernof, M.D., the president and CEO of The SCAN Foundation, has been selected to chair the federal Commission on Long-Term Care.

Mark Warshawsky, director of retirement research at Towers Watson, will serve as vice chair.

The commission was created as part of the American Taxpayer Relief Act, which President Obama signed into law in January.

The 15-member commission will begin work with its first meeting on June 27. It will serve for four months and develop suggestions to improve the quality and affordability of long-term care in the U.S.
