NewsroomOpinion National Nursing Home Week Celebrated May 14, 2015 National Nursing Home Week, sponsored by the American Health Care Association (AHCA), is being celebrated during the week of May 10-16. The theme of this year’s National Nursing Home Week is “Bring on the Fiesta!” According to the PHI State Data Center, more than 1.4 million nursing assistants were employed in nursing homes throughout the U.S. in 2014. These workers earned a median hourly wage of just $12.07 — more than $5 less than the average wage for all U.S. workers.
