Motion for expedited issuance of the mandate

September 1, 2015

A motion filed by the U.S. Department of Justice to expedite the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit’s August 2015 ruling the in case Home Care Association of America v. Weil. By rule, the decision, which clears the path for home care workers to be covered by federal minimum wage and overtime law, cannot take effect for 52 days. But the Justice Department argues that “there is no basis for further delay,” and that the decision should take effect sooner.
