Role for a Labor-Management Partnership in Nursing Home Person-Centered Care

This article examines how labor-management partnerships help facilitate implementation of person-centered care. Using a participatory approach, the researchers conducted case studies of two nursing homes participating in a partnership with a labor union. The study found that, through training, engagement, and more, labor-management partnerships help change the organization and focus of nursing assistants’ work, thereby supporting a transition toward person-centered care.
