CNAs Tell Their Stories in Newly Published Anthology
More than four dozen nursing home workers detail the challenges and rewards of their work in a newly published collection, With Our Loving Hands: 1199 Nursing Home Workers Tell Their Story.
The workers, mostly certified nurse aides (CNAs), recount memorable experiences on the job, pay tribute to their favorite residents, or explain why they choose to work with elders.
“When workers are given the time to write, read aloud, and discuss their stories, the value of their work is reaffirmed,” Tim Sheard, the book’s editor, writes in the book’s introduction.
The workers featured in the book are all members of the 1199 New England Health Care Employees Union.
With Our Loving Hands can be purchased from Amazon on from the website of its publisher, Hardball Press.
