Falls Prevention Awareness Day

September 6, 2012

The fifth annual National Council on Aging (NCOA) Falls Prevention Awareness Day will be held September 22.

This year, 46 states, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico, will participate in the event, which is designed to raise public awareness of falls, the leading cause of death by injury among older Americans.

More information on the event, including resources to help publicize it, can be found at the NCOA website.

In 2010, PHI and NCOA collaborated on a free, adult learner-centered, falls-prevention training curriculum for home health aides.
