Healthy Michigan Enrollment Moving Ahead

May 1, 2014

The Healthy Michigan Plan, Michigan’s much anticipated expanded Medicaid program, began enrollment on April 1.

In the first month, over 150,000 people have enrolled.

Healthy Michigan offers low-cost health care coverage that provides a broad range of services, including preventive and wellness care, chronic disease management, hospitalization, prescription drugs, and maternity and newborn care.

Healthy Michigan is available to individuals and families with incomes up to 133 percent of the federal poverty level – about $16,000 for a single person, and $33,000 for a family of four.

PHI estimates approximately 50,000 direct-care workers in the state could be eligible for coverage.

Visit the PHI Michigan Get Covered Now website for the latest information and resources on how to enroll. A special section includes resources for employers to assist eligible employees to get coverage.
