Investments in direct-care staff a big win for everyone

This article presents highlights from a PHI-authored series of case studies of long-term care organizations that have creatively invested in their direct-care workers and produced positive changes as a result. The organizations introduced peer-mentoring programs, career ladders, advanced training opportunities, and other unique initiatives. Consequently, those organizations saw lower worker turnover rates, higher resident satisfaction, and improved care quality. The PHI case study series was funded by the Hitachi Foundation.
