October 15, 2013

PHI is among the country’s best nonprofit organizations in the field of workforce development as ranked by Philanthropedia, an organization that highlights outstanding nonprofits.

The rankings are based on the opinions of more than 100 national workforce development experts.

One such expert said that PHI’s strengths include “its leadership; its combination of practice, research, and reporting; and its focus on policy and strategic systemic change.”

Another expert, citing PHI’s “strong replication initiatives,” said that PHI has “leveraged change in both industry practices and policies impacting workforce in the industry.”

PHI ranks number nine of the 16 organizations Philanthropedia identified as “outstanding nonprofits” in workforce development.

Other top workforce-development nonprofits honored by Philanthropedia include the National Skills Coalition, the Aspen Institute, and the National Council of La Raza.

Philanthropedia is a division of GuideStar USA, an information service specializing in nonprofit organizations.
