Long-Term Care Workforce: Better Information Needed on Nursing Assistants, Home Health Aides, and Other Direct Care Workers

This report looks at federal and state data available on direct care workers. The report suggests that HRSA has not developed methods to address data limitations on this workforce, in accordance with its strategic plan. Unless HRSA takes steps to improve data collection, the limitations of data will continue to impair policymakers’ ability to identify trends and develop strategies to ensure a robust direct care workforce.
