Nursing homes are dependent upon immigrant, female workers. However, these workers are provided with low compensation, leading to many working in multiple facilities to make ends meet, potentially facilitating the spread of COVID. Paid sick leave laws with strong enforcement can help address some of these inequities while improving the safety of workers and residents.
