WEBINAR: Clarifying New FLSA Rule for Consumer-Directed Programs

July 10, 2014

The Department of Labor (DOL) is holding a webinar on July 17 to clarify an upcoming rule change to the Fair Labor Standards Act extending basic wage protections to home care workers.

The webinar will help employers determine whether they are obligated to follow the new rule if they employ home care workers through consumer-directed programs.

In June, the DOL issued two clarifying documents pertaining to this question in recent weeks.

The guidance concludes that most, but not all, consumer-directed programs will have a third party employer such as a public entity, private agency, or non-profit organization.

The webinar will be held at 1 p.m. EST. Registration is required.
