WEBINAR: Seeing Home Care Through a Disability Lens

June 1, 2015

Advocates for the home care workforce are invited to join a June 4 Caring Across Generations webinar to learn how their state’s home care system is structured and funded, and how it applies to consumers with disabilities.

Participants will hear an overview of the civil rights victories attained by the disability movement, and will learn how the rights of home care workers intersect with the rights of consumers who have disabilities.

They will also discuss Medicaid and the Americans with Disabilities Act, and will share strategies to ensure that their state’s home care systems are responsive to the needs of people with disabilities.

Alison Barkoff, Director of Advocacy at the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, and Mollie Murphy the Financial Management Services Lead at the National Resource Center for Participant-Directed Services, will present during the webinar.

Registration for the webinar, which is entitled “Home Care Through a Disablity Lens: Funding, Policy, and Models,” is available online.
