WEBINAR: Unpacking New Wage Rules for Home Care Workers

September 15, 2015

The National Resource Center for Participant-Directed Services (NRCPDS) analyzed a recent federal court decision upholding basic wage protections for home care workers in a September 9 webinar.

The webinar explained the August 21 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which found that the U.S. Department of Labor did not act beyond the bounds of its authority when it extended minimum-wage and overtime protections to home care workers.

The full webinar recording is available online, along with slides (pdf) from the webinar.

The NRCPDS will look at the court’s decision and its implications in even greater detail in a September 29 webinar. The upcoming webinar will focus primarily on how the decision affects joint-employment factors and tracking workers’ travel time.

Registration information is available at the NRCPDS website; click “Webinar” to register. Members of the NRCPDS should register by sending an email to membership@participantdirection.org.
