Advancing Excellence Campaign Reaches Milestone

March 12, 2013

More than 9,000 nursing homes are now participating in the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes (AE) campaign.

The milestone was reached in February, when Vi at Silverstone, a continuing care retirement community in Scottsdale, Arizona, signed onto the campaign.

In a press release (pdf), Dr. David Gifford of the Advancing Excellence in Long-Term Care Collaborative, which oversees the campaign, said that the milestone proves yet again that nursing homes across the country can see “the value of AE’s resources to improving the quality of care and life for their residents and staff.”

Advancing Excellence works toward promoting quality care by encouraging nursing homes to adapt several clinical and operational goals, including three related to the direct-care workforce:

  • Minimizing staff turnover
  • Employing consistent assignment of certified nursing assistants
  • Regularly assessing staff satisfaction
