New Mexico Coalition Offers Safety Training for Caregivers

February 12, 2015

The New Mexico Direct Caregivers Coalition (NMDCC) is offering a 10-hour health and safety training for home health aides, personal care assistants, and other caregivers.

The trainings will occur throughout the state over the next several months. Two February trainings are planned:

  • February 20-21 in Roswell
  • February 27-28 in Silver City

Trainings will show caregivers how to stay safe while transferring consumers and will also help them prevent other ergonomic hazards. The trainings will use information from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as a guideline.

Registration is required for the trainings. More information, as well as a full list of upcoming trainings, is available at the NMDCC website.
