WEBINAR: Preparing the Personal Care Workforce for the Future

The future of personal care attendants (PCAs) and other home care workers will be examined in an August 14 webinar held by the Institute of Medicine (IOM).

The webinar will begin at 2 p.m. EST with an overview of the PCA workforce by PHI Director of Policy Research Abby Marquand.

Also scheduled to speak during the webinar are:

  • Susan Chapman, University of California, San Francisco
  • Robyn Stone, LeadingAge
  • Charissa Raynor, SEIU Healthcare NW Training Partnership and Health Benefits Trust
  • Amy Hewitt, Institute on Community Integration at the University of Minnesota 

Among other topics, the speakers will examine the varying training standards for PCAs by state and provide an update on the Personal and Home Care Aide State Training (PHCAST) program.

A follow-up webinar on the PCA workforce will take place on August 21.
