WEBINARS: DOL to Explain Impact of New Home Care Worker Wage Rule

September 24, 2013

Throughout October, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) will be holding several informational webinars to explain its decision to extend basic wage protections to home care workers.

The first webinar is scheduled for October 3 and is aimed at employers, workers, and their families living in the Northeast U.S.

Subsequent webinars will focus on different regions of the country. The full list of webinars is available on the DOL website.

The DOL announced on September 17 that it will publish a final rule that will amend the “companionship exemption” of the Fair Labor Standards Act, thereby extending minimum-wage and overtime protections to home care workers.

Each webinar will be archived on the DOL homepage and available for download.
